Assistant Manager

We are seeking a full-time team member to support in the management of daily operations at the bakery.  We would love to have someone that is a self-starter and can work independently, but also as part of a team. We have a small team and we all wear several hats and fill in gaps as needed, so flexibility is a must! Previous experience in a bakery is preferred.  Creativity is an added bonus!

Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience in a retail bakery
  • Experience with any or all of the following programs: Trello, Quickbooks, Dubsado, Square, Mailchimp and WordPress

Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer relations – both retail and wholesale
  • Greet guests, answer questions and proactively assist guests with accurate and timely information
  • Consult with customers to discuss desired cake designs for custom orders
  • Make product/service recommendations and accommodate special requests
  • Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner
  • Develop and implement advertising and marketing strategies to attract new customers using email marketing, physical signage, social media, etc.
  • Monitor top selling items and coordinate promotions accordingly
  • Inspect bakery items to ensure that established standards on quality, uniformity, and aesthetic appeal are met
  • Maintain the bakery display area and FOH in accordance with BBG standards
  • Maintain schedules, calendars and spreadsheets
  • Complete administrative duties that are part of daily operations such as answering phones, ordering supplies
  • Schedule and coordinate with vendors for deliveries and services
  • Support financial processes such as budgeting, bookkeeping and payroll
  • Find ways to improve administrative processes
  • Train other FOH staff
